The most important post i'll ever write (Thursday 24th of July 2008)

It is about a Spiritual Retreat and healing centre on the Isle of Wight.

If you are psychic, spiritual, or a medium.
If you want to learn about crystals, transcendental meditation, Reiki.
If you want conversation and communication with like minded people.
If you are none of these, but are depressed and in tatters and need to curl up in a ball... ....and would like to try art therapy.
Or if you just want to experience something eccentric and ever so slightly radio rental, then this could be for you.

Outstanding Natural Beauty.
I am trying to set up a Spiritual Retreat in Chale on the Isle of Wight. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with wonderful countryside and walks in all directions. A fabulous place to ground in, for rest and re balancing. Away from the chaos of the world, and atmospheric smog.

The Island is a very spiritual place, and there are a lot of very gifted healers here. I am trying to link us all up, so that we can provide a healing service here on the Isle.

The setting is a beautiful old Gothic church, built in 1888 in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are calling it The Forgotten Church after forgotten knowledge, and because it was in a sad state when we bought it. It is situated at the bottom of Gotten Lane.

I love to stay here.
This morning I woke up in the church, with the light flooding in through the big church window. There is a wonderful atmosphere here, and I feel completely relaxed and together again, even though yesterday was an exhausting day with work.

My partner Pete and I have explored many of the countryside walks round here......my favorite is a two minute walk up the road to see the deer. At the moment you can see all the young ones wobbling around on their long spindly legs, a wonderful sight to see; and beyond the field you can see the broad sweeping coastline all the way to the Needles headland. It really is breathtaking.

It is like being right in the middle of Nature Watch- what with the rutting of the deer, llamas, highland cattle, beautiful red foxes, and rabbits in abundance. It is just so tranquil.

The Tipi sleeps 6!
We have a tipi in the garden, and my friend Ian whom has been possessed by a Guardian Angel, is our first guest in it. Ian has not long been in our lives, and he was definitely heaven sent.
Pete, Ian and Dave have finally conquered the art of tipi erection, after much trial and error. Luckily the instruction manual has just turned up, so perfection in this area is not far away!! Visually, the tipi in the churchyard is somewhat surreal, and it has been stopping traffic!!

What I can do for you.
I am an artist, and I am offering Art Therapy and Art Lessons - courses, workshops, and private sessions.

Or, you can come just to watch an artist at work, as I explore Art Therapy, Spirituality, Spiritual Art and Meditative Art.

Inspired by music.
As tranquil, uplifting music can raise your vibration, I tend to work with music most of the time. Exploring colour with inspired music is tremendously uplifting and healing.

I have been working on a project with Classical Composer Sarah Class over the last few years, and anyone that is interested, can come and watch this project evolve.

A rather strange scenario.
Psychic development has changed my take on the world.
A mental breakdown changed me as a person.
Weirdly, while in this 'Mental Fruitcake' state of mind, it slowly dawned on me....... I had bought a church..... complete with CHURCH ORGAN!
A CHURCH!!??? WHAT WAS I THINKING OF?

Oddly enough.... The whole experience, the mountains to climb in getting here, the pain, tears and frustration, the ART, working with music, the beautiful atmosphere, has healed me as a person.

I was driven by my unbalanced mental state to seek a place of rest, where wholeness could be achieved.

Two choices.
To SELL the church, or KEEP the church, that is the question. I have now realised that I was in a completely BARKING frame of mind when I bought it, and funds just aren't us!!!
(Pete has just found a pheasant feather on the lawn)

My feeling really is to SHARE IT, so that others can benefit from it in the way that I have benefitted being in these surroundings.

A bit of sanity in an insane world, is what I would like to offer.

Pete says that if we have guests, we will have to get a curtain up over that big window!!!

I think this is where you will find my blog!!!
It took Ian and I a while to find it, and I had got to thinking... 'what's the point of writing a blog if you can't even find it yourself!'

Good News (Monday 12th of May 2008)

Have managed to borrow a camera so will be able to start recording progess.

Events

I have just started doing these, and will let you know dates, as and when they are booked.
I am selling a selection of my work, and also demonstrating abstract art / energy art.
So far I've had some good feedback with regards to running workshops - either here on the Island, in a tipee at shows or via the web..... and I've met some lovely people.
The first two events, we had snow. At the Royal Bath and West we had a flash flood!! It rained the entire first day and by day two, the river had burst it's banks.
The hospitality tent was completely flooded along with much of the site. Men were moving earth with their bare hands to try to control the river.
Luckily our pitch was on higher ground, so we were fairly unscathed.
I usually like to paint to music, but this show was soo noisy! We were opposite the endless farrier demonstrations, line dancing, Punch and Judy and Tai Chi. Luckily, if you could hear the music from the Tai Chi, it was soothing!
I have spent the last few months listening to music by Sarah Class and using my latest canvases as exploritory pieces.
We are now learning about filming and hope to have regular art instruction uploaded soon.
And finally, if anyone out there could help with SEO in return for original artwork, please get in touch.
